What is a Linear LED Driver?

Fundamentally, linear LED drivers provide the same outcome as conventional LED drivers, with the greatest difference being their physical appearance. The linear LED driver is typically longer and thinner than the conventional LED driver's boxed design. 

Linear LED drivers are designed so they can be installed to fit within an aluminium extrusion found within signage or lighting rig frames. By installing within an aluminium extruder, the power supply is a shorter distance from its intended LED lighting, reducing the risk of voltage drop whilst also providing the benefit of the heatsink and EMI reduction.
