Control Freak DALI & DMX512 Control

Control Freak eDIDIO Series 10, Spektra

Smart lighting controls have fundamentally changed energy management from residential and commercial buildings to entertainment venues. Among the many options available, two stand out as the most popular: DMX (Digital Multiplex) and DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface).

Control Freak offers a variety of DALI and DMX control devices to manage lighting with precision, allowing for individual or group control of lights. The DALI system offers dimming, scheduling and integration with building management systems. Not only does this save energy but allows for creating the right atmosphere of lighting for any space.

Control Freak’s DMX512 control systems are ideal for more complex lighting designs – such as theatres and architectural design. DMX512 control systems add a creative feature to designs, enabling colour changes and synchronised actions across multiple fixtures, making it ideal for dynamic environments where visual impact is important.

The eDIDIO Series 10 is the latest controller type in Control Freak's using DALI and DMX protocols for lighting control. The eDIDIO is modular to allow any combination of DALI or DMX outputs across two lines in the 4-pole version, or expand up to 4 lines of control and 24 inputs in the 9-pole version.

The controller is intuitive to use with DIDIO Configurator V2 and Spektra, a customisable colour controller. The Spektra provides a simple interface for managing lighting scenes from a smartphone or tablet and easily pairs with the eDIDIO S10. Learn more here how Spektra software and eDIDIO S10 controller can transform a home theatre into a cinematic masterpiece.

One key feature of eDIDIO is the ability to translate commands between DALI and DMX, making it an essential tool for integrators who require seamless integration of these two different protocols. Not only does this simplify system design, but also enhances operational flexibility, allowing full control over diverse lighting setups.
